Who am I?

“The great aim of education is not knowledge but action” – Herbert Spencer. My name is Eliane Ventura. I majored in Language and Arts, Portuguese- English, at the Federal University of Viçosa - Minas Gerais State, Brazil, in December 1984, and since then I have worked as an English teacher, first in private language schools and for 12 years in a public state school. A year ago I had the opportunity to take a training course on English teaching methodology for six weeks at the University of Kansas, in the United States, sponsored by CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) and the Fulbright Commission. This course was a turning point in my professional life. This blog is the result of the valuable acquired knowledge during my course at the University of Kansas.
